The director of casting noticed her during one of Lucy's drama classes. Lucy was invited by casting directors to attend an audition. She was invited to audition for the part of Beatrix, the young lead in 2006's biographical family drama Miss Potter. After a number of auditions and training sessions, Lucy eventually got her part. She appeared in Liminality which was a short film from 2005. The same year, she also made an appearance on screen for the first-time in the critically acclaimed comedy-drama Transamerica . In 2014, she appeared on television as a character in an episode of Law & Order Criminal Intent Season 4 episode. She was a part of Dick Wolf's Chicago franchise in 2014 and was named Nadia Decotis, Chicago P.D. .
